Hello, Slalom Gaters!
Summer is ending, fall is here, and winter is just around the corner - YEAH!!
I hope that everyone had a good summer and enjoyed some of the club's activities. Thank you, everyone, who led or sponsored a summer activity.
We're gearing up for winter, and we'll jump start it in style with our Ski Club Kickoff Expo on
Wednesday, October 8 at 6:00 pm at Overland Park Golf Course Clubhouse. Overland is located
at Santa Fe and Jewell, and offers plenty of parking in a lighted parking lot. We're hearing from
many of Colorado's ski resorts saying they will attend, and some vendors may also be there. The
flyer for the Kickoff Expo is in the Trip Catalog, and provides all the details. If you cannot attend the
Kickoff, you can join the club, or renew your membership online by using the secure online shopping cart at www.gatesski.org. You must be a member of Slalom Gates Ski Club to be eligible for the drawings at the Kickoff Expo. These include lift tickets and many other great prizes.

NOTE: Our membership dues have gone up slightly for this year. Additionally, seniors - 65
and over - will now pay a small membership fee. Look for information and an application for
membership in this catalog, or online at www.gatesski.org.

REMEMBER: You can renew your membership online and update your personal information. It’s quick, easy, and secure!!

Our monthly meetings will also be held at Overland Park Golf Course Clubhouse. We won't be
providing appetizers for the monthly meetings this year, but we think you'll find that Overland's
varied and reasonably priced menu, along with a bar with all the usual adult beverages, will take
care of your food and drink needs.
Check out our great schedule of trips for the 2008-2009 season in this catalog. Our trip
captains (Thank you all!) have worked hard to put together enough variety to suit everyone. Now we
just need your participation and the snow!
We hope to have some great programs for you this year at our monthly meetings. Our new venue
should be a little quieter, and more conducive to having speakers.
This year, let's ski a lot, support our club trips, bring in new members, and just generally have a
great time. See you all at the Kickoff and on the snow!
